This is a good deal for anyone looking for a cheap getaway from Minnesota – Frontier Airlines has brought back its one-penny flights.

All you have to do is pay the taxes for your journey (and any additional costs like baggage), which means from Minneapolis-St. Paul International, one-way tickets are as cheap as $39.

There are 8 destinations you can fly to for that price: Austin, Charleston, Cleveland, Colorado Springs, Denver, Jacksonville, Raleigh-Durham, and Trenton (NJ).

Most of the $39 flights apply to midweek dates and, like we said, it only applies to one-way trips, so the total cost will vary depending on when you head out and when you return.

That said, we've found return flights that also start at $39, so for example, a four-day break in Denver from Thursday, Aug. 23 to Sunday, Aug. 26 will only cost you $78 return from MSP.

Most of the offers are available through Nov. 14, except for Colorado Springs (ending Sept. 30) and Jacksonville (ending Oct. 3).

Bear in mind that Frontier actually charges you a small fortune to bring not just checked bags but also carry-on items – with only small purses or laptop bags allowed on free of charge.

So if you do intend to take advantage of the offer – you'd best build these costs into your budget.

If you want our advice: Put your underwear in a laptop bag, and wear 4 layers of clothes.
