Gallery: New 'Glampground' set to open on Minnesota's North Shore
A new "glamping" experience is coming to Minnesota's Lake Superior coastline, with North Shore Camping Co. set to debut in May.
The new destination, based in Beaver Bay, is being launched by Cove Point Lodge and describes itself as an "outdoor focused resort that embraces the Scandinavian concept of open air-air living."
There are number of tents dotted throughout the resort, and each comes with supplies including lanterns, flashlights, solar-powered electrical outlets, a stove and grilling equipment, kitchenware, firewood and a 5-gallon water dispenser.
Visitors will also have access to its Base Lodge restroom and showers – with toiletries provided – as well as a camp store where guests can borrow books and games. Those glamping can also walk across Voyageurs Highway to nearby Cove Point Lodge to use its pool, hot tub, sauna, and lakeshore.
There is nearby access to the Superior Hiking Trail and the Split Rock Wilds Mountain Bike Trail, and the resort will put on daily activities including guided walks, scavenger hunts, and a 6 p.m. nightly cocktail hour.
