Garrison Keillor will return to where it all started for the 41st anniversary of "A Prairie Home Companion."

His live Fourth of July broadcast will be performed on Saturday afternoon at Macalester College in St. Paul. The Associated Press reports that Keillor will host the 4:45 p.m. show from an outdoor stage on Macalester's Great Lawn.

Keillor's anniversary show will feature some great American music with JD McPherson. Other musical guests will include singers Jearlyn and Jevetta Steele, banjo player Joe Newberry, pianist Butch Thompson and will also include a celebration of Minnesota's Scandinavian heritage with Tjarnblom and the Macalester College Pipe Band.

Keillor began the show broadcasting from Macalester on July 6, 1974, he returned to do the 40th anniversary show from the school last year.

He announced earlier in the week that he plans to transition out of his role as host of the show during the 2015-16 season, which opens in September. That role will be filled by Chris Thile, a mandolinist and singer in the bands Punch Brothers and Nickel Creek.

Seating on Macalester's Great Lawn opens at 1, and rush tickets go on sale for $15 at 4 p.m.
