Garth Brooks is loved in Minnesota, as the past two nights at U.S. Bank Stadium have shown.
More than 70,000 fans each night packed the home of the Vikings as the country superstar made a triumphant return to Minneapolis.
Brooks, of course, is familiar with the fervor with which he's greeted in Minnesota, as evidenced by the 11-night residency he sold out at Target Center in 2014.
When Brooks announced he was coming back to the Twin Cities last year, then Governor Mark Dayton persuaded him to add a second date.
Unsurprisingly, demand for both nights was huge, and Brooks was very appreciative of the support he received, sharing a hearty "SKOL!" with fans after his Saturday show.
Speaking before his Friday show, Brooks told the Star Tribune that Minneapolis has been "the biggest city for us in our career," noting that it's the only city on his stadium tour that got two shows.
The Pioneer Press called Brooks' Friday show U.S. Bank Stadium's "best-sounding concert yet," with the massive curtains installed for the Final Four tournament improving acoustics in the cavernous arena.
