Minnesota's 14th annual Give to the Max Day on Thursday raised over $34 million for local nonprofits and schools.

According to GiveMN, the single-day event raised $34,067,008 for 6,439 organizations across the state.

The fundraising drive, held each year ahead of the holiday season, has raised more than $330 million since 2009.

According to GiveMN, donations poured in from each of Minnesota's 87 counties and 11 Native nations. Support also came from each of the 50 states and 41 countries around the world.

The Minnesota State Horticultural Society was the lucky winner of the randomly-drawn $10,000 Super-Sized Golden Ticket prize from event organizers.

Hourly prizes worth $1,000 and $500 were also handed out

This year's donations were just shy of last year's record-setting $34.3 million total.
