Granny's Donuts in West St. Paul to close for good
After more than 30 years in business, Granny's Donuts in West St. Paul is closing its doors for good.
The writing appeared to be on the wall last month when it was announced the building that housed the donut shop at 1555 S Robert St. was being sold.
And Granny's confirmed this past Thursday "with a heavy heart" that it will be closing its doors permanently.
"Thank you so much for your love and support over the years," it posted on Facebook. "Many of you have become like family to us and we will miss you all dearly.
"Our family has grown up in this store and we will always have so many fond memories of Granny Donuts."
Granny's was opened in 1987, with husband and wife Xuan Phung To and Que Banh buying the building. Prior to this, it was a Bosa Doughnut and Winchell's Donut House.
The Pioneer Press reports that the building will be torn down as part of the Town Center One mixed-use development.
