A future episode of Food Network's "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives" will feature a Minnesota restaurant.

Sol Ave. Kitchen, located at 1408 1st Ave. N. in Moorhead, welcomed the show's host, restauranteur Guy Fieri, to the Moorhead eatery on Monday. One Moorhead police officer was able to snap a picture with the king of Flavortown, USA.

"Officers provided traffic control for Guy Fieri as he filmed in Moorhead today," Moorhead PD wrote on Facebook. "I guess you could say today was one of those 'perks of the job' kind of days."

It's not clear when the episode will air, but Bring Me The News has reached out to Sol Ave. Kitchen hoping to learn a little more about the experience.

Sol Ave. Kitchen describes its menu as "casual concept-globally (and thoughtfully) inspired street food with a midwest twist to make you feel happy."

The menu features tacos – crispy chicken, pork belly or grilled spicy cauliflower – and sandwiches, including a double-fried chicken sandwich featuring a potato roll bun, aioli, kimchi, ssamjang, pickles and cilantro, in addition to a Cubano on a french roll bun with lime aioli, pork belly, ham, pickles, mustard and gruyere.

What's amazing is that Fieri and the Food Network picked out the restaurant even though it's only been opened in Moorhead since August 2019.

The restaurant, which features a pair of large garage doors for inside/outside seating, is located next door to Junkyard Brewing Company. The two collaborate to serve customers food and beer.

Sol Ave. Kitchen's COVID-19 hours have it open Tuesday-Thursday from 4-8 p.m., and Friday-Saturday from 12-9 p.m.

Fieri has previously visited 39 restaurants in Minnesota, though the majority have been in the Twin Cities and Duluth. This is is the first time he's put Moorhead on the map.
