'Hamilton' to return as Hennepin Theatre Trust reveals Broadway season plans
After a hugely successful run in 2018, "Hamilton" is returning to Minneapolis as part of the next Hennepin Theatre Trust "Broadway on Hennepin" season.
The lineup for the 2020-21 season was revealed on Monday, and includes the return of Lin-Manuel Miranda's famous musical, which will be back for an extended run at The Orpheum between Oct. 6 and Nov. 22.
Among the other major productions announced Monday is "To Kill a Mockingbird," the adaptation of Harper Lee's seminal work by Oscar winning writer Aaron Sorkin ("The West Wing," "The Social Network.")
It will also be at the Orpheum for a 6-night run between Dec. 15-20.
Other musicals booked for the season includes the acclaimed darker revival of Rodgers & Hammerstein's "Oklahoma!" which will land at the Orpheum from Jan. 19-24, 2021.
Also booked for 2021 is "Jersey Boys," the award-winning musical about Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, "Moulin Rouge! The Musical," and "Cats," "Hadestown," "Ain't Too Proud: The Life and Times of the Temptations," "The Prom," and "Tootsie."
