Harlem Globetrotters set 5 Minnesota stops on new world tour

The Harlem Globetrotters are bouncing back into Minnesota for four stops on their "Fans Rule" World Tour, the team announced Tuesday.

The team will bring their tour to the Sanford Center in Bemidji on Jan. 8, the P.E. Center at the University of Minnesota Morris in Morris on Jan. 10, Hallenbeck Hall at St. Cloud State University in St. Cloud April 11, two games at Target Center in Minneapolis April 12 and a game at AMSOIL Arena in Duluth April 14.

Fans can also choose which new game-changing rules they want to see the team play under before the Globetrotters visit.

Among the choices is the "Hot Hand Jersey," where the team passes along a jersey to each other during the game, and the player wearing it can score double the points on the baskets they score.

The second option is "Make or Miss." Under the rule, the quarter begins with only two players on the court for each team. When a team scores, a teammate may enter the game. But when the team misses, the player who missed the shot has to leave the court -- effectively leaving his or her teammates shorthanded.

Option No. 3 is the "Trick Shot Challenge," where each team is given three challenge flags to call on the other team to make a trick shot. If the team makes the trick shot, they get five points, but if the miss, the other team gets the five points.

Tickets are available now for the Bemidji, Morris, Minneapolis and Duluth games. Bemidji tickets range from $26.20 to $73.22, and tickets for the U of M Morris game are $25.

Tickets for the Target Center games run from $27 to $130, and tickets for the Duluth game run from $30.75 to $101.52.
