Film great Harrison Ford hasn't had a chance to come to Minnesota lately, but he got close by working with Minneapolis native T.R. Knight in the upcoming Jackie Robinson baseball drama "42."

"We had a good time," Ford told me in a recent interview. "He was terrific. I really appreciated the opportunity to work with him."

Ford stars as famed baseball executive Branch Rickey in "42," the Brooklyn Dodgers president and general manager who signed Robinson (Chadwick Boseman) to break Major League Baseball's color barrier. Knight co-stars as Harold Parrott, the team's traveling secretary.

Ford lauded the work of Knight, who starred in productions at Guthrie Theater and the Children's Theater Company in Minneapolis before going on to star in such hit TV dramas as ABC's "Grey's Anatomy" and CBS' "The Good Wife."

"I was impressed with him and satisfied, and it was a pleasure to be around him," Ford said.

Look for my full interview with Ford about "42" just before it opens in theaters April 12.
