Hear the 'Michael Myers' theme live from director John Carpenter himself

The "Halloween" director is coming to Minnesota.

We bet you can hear it playing in your head already.

The iconic theme from Halloween is just one of many that director John Carpenter wrote and produced for his movies, and he'll be performing his classic scores live in Minnesota next month.

In case you need a refresher, here's the music Michael Myers famously walks and stalks to:

The 69-year-old filmmaker will kick off his "John Carpenter: Anthology" tour on Oct. 29, which is the weekend before Halloween (naturally). His first engagement is happening at the Hard Rock Casino & Hotel in Las Vegas.

And then, after playing a few dates up and down the California coast, Carpenter will perform at Myth Live in Maplewood, Minnesota, Nov. 7 at 8 p.m.

It's $45 for general admission, and there are also more expensive packages – like a "Meet & Greet" deal for $180. You can buy tickets right here

More about John Carpenter

Besides Halloween, Carpenter has a slew of cult classics to his name, including Escape from New York, The Thing, Big Trouble in Little China, They Live, The Fog, and many others.

He's composed the score for the majority of his films, but not for the sake of being called a renaissance man. At least not at first.

As Stereogum explains, Carpenter, who comes from a musical background (his dad was a college music professor), scored all his early films to keep production costs low.

But thanks to their uniquely atmospheric and often spooky vibe, his soundtracks have become legendary in their own right. (And you can buy them in album form online.)

For an idea of what to expect from Carpenter's tour, check out this "live in studio" performance of his awesome Escape from New York theme:
