The Hennepin Theatre Trust has announced a series of show cancellations extending in to May in response to the coronavirus outbreak.

The move was taken in response to Gov. Tim Walz's executive order shutting down entertainment venues and other public accommodations.

Although the shutdown, which also affects bars and restaurants, is only in place until Mar. 27, it is likely to be extended with the number of COVID-19 cases continuing to grow, and with community transmission suggesting the total number of cases is much larger than officially known.

Among the events canceled is the run of Anastasia at The Orpheum and Pee-Wee Herman's Big Adventure 35th Anniversary at the State Theatre.

Previously bought tickets will be honored for the new date, and anyone with questions can call the box office at (612) 339-7007.
