Here's what made the ground shake in Bloomington and Burnsville today
"Was it just me or did Bloomington just shake like we had an earthquake?" Twitter user @L1keW1se asked Wednesday afternoon.
Yes @L1keW1se. Yes it did.
Some Twitter users hit up the Bloomington Police Department, mentioning some strong shaking Wednesday around lunchtime. A Redditor also noticed it, writing:
"I was eating lunch at work and all of a sudden the building seemed to oscillate about a half inch for just a couple seconds. Nearly everybody in the building (3 stories tall) noticed, with some reporting that things fell off their desks."
It was not an earthquake however – Bloomington PD tweeted it was Kraemer Mining in Burnsville, doing blasting at the quarry.
The company says its Burnsville quarry opened in 1959, and produces dolomitic limestone that's used in concrete, asphalt, road-base and landscape works.
