Hewing Hotel finds workaround to shutdown, delivering 7-course meal to rooms
As restaurants are required to close their dining rooms again to help prevent the spread of COVID-19, one Minneapolis hotel is offering customers an alternative.
The Hewing Hotel in North Loop is offering an elevated room service experience starting Friday. On Friday and Saturday nights in December, customers can eat in a guest room turned dining room for a contactless dinner service.
The package includes a seven-course tasting menu for up to four people at $110 per person. The experience also includes a flat $65 rate for the 3-hour room reservation. Wine can also be purchased.
According to the hotel’s Facebook page, the initial dates for this weekend were quick to sell out. Reservations are also available next week, and you can book here.
Guests can then choose to stay the night for an additional fee.
The Hewing, on Washington Avenue, is home to the acclaimed restaurant Tullibee.
As part of Gov. Tim Walz's most recent restrictions on in-person gatherings to combat COVID-19, bars and restaurants are limited to take-out and delivery service.
