Hippo Campus brings Minnesota to Lollapalooza (plus the full lineup)
Why its name isn't at the very top of the poster next Chance the Rapper, The Killers or Blink-182, we don't know.
But local indie rock group Hippo Campus is set to play the giant Lollapalooza festival this year, according to the lineup announced Wednesday morning.
Hippo Campus is on the bill for the opening Thursday – that's Aug. 3 in Chicago's Grant Park. Topping the bill that day will be Muse, Lorde, Cage the Elephant and Wiz Khalifa. Their debut album Landmark was released in late February (and here they are performing in the Go Garage that month).
Who else is playing?
'The big ones are The Killers, Blink-182, DJ Snake and Run the Jewels (Friday); Chance the Rapper, The XX, Alt-J and The Head and the Heart (Saturday); and Arcade Fire, Justice, Big Sean and The Shins (Sunday).
Of course there are approximately 1 million bands playing the entire four-day festival, so you'll probably be interested others Migos, Declan McKenna, Ryan Adams, Vance Joy, Lil Yachty, Machine Gun Kelly ... the list goes on. Here's the full list.
Four-day tickets are already sold out, but single-day passes go on sale at 10 a.m. Wednesday for $120 a pop. Check out your options here.
