A reality TV show based in the State of Hockey is set to air its first episode this weekend.

"Hockey Moms" is a documentary-style show that follows four hockey moms – Angie, Shay, Shontel and Gwen – who have one goal: sanity during the competitive youth hockey season, according to the show's website.

McCalley-Lee Entertainment, which is producing the show, says it hopes to convey to the viewer everything a hockey mom (and her family) goes through to support their kids' hockey dreams, The Laker and The Pioneer reported.

Here's a preview of the show, which begins airing Saturday, Dec. 26 at 6:30 p.m.

The show will run through March, airing on KSTC 45 in the Twin Cities, ABC 6 in the Rochester area, and My Sports 9 out of Duluth, according to the TV schedule.

Two notable episodes to look forward to: the Feb. 20, 2016 show will directly follow the AA Championship Girls High School Hockey Game, and the season finale will air right after the AA Championship Boys High School Hockey Game on March 5, according to McCalley-Lee.

McCalley-Lee Entertainment held a casting call to find the perfect hockey moms over the summer. It was actually the producers' second time trying to get the show on-air – they tried to cast it last year, but failed to find a network, the Star Tribune reported.

Over 400 people from around the country applied to be on the new reality TV show, The Laker and The Pioneer said.
