How do you get to Carnegie Hall? Ask the Minnesota Orchestra

The Minnesota Orchestra is getting a chance – a second one, actually – to play one of the most revered performance venues in the world.

New York's Carnegie Hall released its performance schedule for the 2015-16 season today, and among the world-class orchestras slotted is Minnesota's own. According to the release, conductor and music director Osmo Vänskä will lead performances of two symphonies, and a violin concerto by Finnish composer Jean Sibelius.

Carnegie Hall points out the Minnesota Orchestra won a Grammy Award for their recording of two other Sibelius symphonies (Nos. 1 and 4, to be exact).

The announcement is good news for the renowned orchestra, which was forced to call off its previously scheduled Carnegie visits in 2013 due to a contract dispute, the Star Tribune reports.

The Minnesota Orchestra is slated for a March 3rd, 2016 performance at Carnegie Hall.
