Just as the weather is expected to turn colder this coming week, the Ice Castles attraction is set to open in the Twin Cities.
This year, the Ice Castles are located in New Brighton, and they open to the public on Friday, Jan. 17. This year's attraction is in New Brighton after being hosted in Excelsior last winter, and in Stillwater, Eden Prairie and the Mall of America in previous years.
Tickets go on sale Monday, with prices varying depending on when you go.

Tickets on Martin Luther King Day (Jan. 20) and President's Day (Feb. 17) will feature Friday-Sunday pricing.
Ice Castles' team of "professional ice artisans" have grown, harvested and placed up to 10,000 icicles each day to create the structure, which is illuminated by LED lights at night and features tunnels, fountains, slides and crawl spaces.
The Ice Castles are located at Long Lake Regional Park, 1500 Old Highway 8 in New Brighton.
