It looks like Uptown Pizza in Minneapolis has suddenly closed

The original spot opened nearly four decades ago in 1980.

Another Twin Cities restaurant has shuttered its doors, with Uptown Pizza at the corners of Lake Street and Grand Avenue going silently into the night.

City Pages was first to report that the pizza joint is shuttered, noting that "CLOSED" signs are in the restaurant windows and calls and messages to the shop go unanswered.

Bring Me The News has also unsuccessfully tried to make contact.

Uptown Pizza's Facebook page looks active, but hidden in the "About" section are red letters that read "Permanently Closed."

Try to order online and you'll be greeted with an automated response that reads "Online orders are not currently being accepted at this time."

Uptown Pizza opened in 1980, so it's nearly four-decade run appears to be over.
