As Jack Frost starts to nip and preparations for the holiday season are well underway, the last thing many Minnesotans will be thinking about is the State Fair.

But if you're looking to be ahead of the curve for next year, or perhaps are thinking of gifting some for Christmas, the State Fair has made tickets for the 2020 Great Minnesota Get-Together available as of Friday.

They cost $12, which represents a $3 discount for adults and a $1 discount for children and seniors, with the tickets valid for admission on any day of the 2020 fair, which runs from Aug. 27 to Sept. 7.

So how to do it? You can buy your tickets online through 9 p.m. on Aug. 26, and can print the tickets off at home, or store them on your phone to save on handling fees. Click here to book.

If you're looking to buy them as a gift for Christmas and want the tickets mailed to you in time, you need to order by Dec. 13.

Alternatively, you can book tickets through Etix at 800-514-3849.

There have been few announcements as to what to expect at the 2020 State Fair, but expect Grandstand acts and fairground improvements to be revealed over the coming months.

One new addition will be an open-air exhibit honoring Prince, called "Paisley Park in Your Heart 2020," which will feature Prince memorabilia, merchandise, and nightly performances.
