John Mayer is embarking on a solo tour this summer, and St. Paul is on the schedule.

The singer-songwriter is touring this spring and early summer with Dead & Company, which features several former members of the Grateful Dead along with some guest musicians.

But less than two weeks after his tour with the Dead finishes, Mayer will strike out on his own on a North American tour that includes a stop in St. Paul.

Mayer, whose hits include "Say," "Your Body is a Wonderland," and "No Such Thing," will play the Xcel Energy Center on Aug. 5, with presale tickets being made available on Tuesday.

You can sign up to get presale tickets here.

General sale tickets meanwhile are released on Friday, and can be booked at Ticketmaster or at the Xcel Energy Center box office.

It'll be the only chance to see Mayer in the Twin Cities this summer, as Dead & Company won't be making a stop in the metro.
