KARE 11 says goodbye to John Croman, who has retired after 27 years at the station
KARE 11 political reporter John Croman is retiring after 27 years at the station.
Wednesday marked Croman’s final appearance on KARE 11, for whom he has covered political issues since 1997. He plans to retire and spend more time with his family.
“It’s been a real privilege working here, and it’s because of the people I’ve worked with. Not the brand, or the ratings, or the legacy, but it’s the people at KARE,” Croman said in the studio during his last broadcast.
Croman told KARE 11 that the most dramatic story he covered over the course of his career was the Al Franken-Norm Coleman recount during the 2008 election.
To mark the occasion, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz declared Wednesday "John Croman Day."
Sen. Amy Klobuchar was also among those to congratulate Croman on his retirement, calling him a “trusted voice.”
