More changes to Minnesota's TV scene as sports reporter Kate Emmer announced Wednesday that she's leaving FOX Sports North.

"It comes with mixed emotions to tell you all that I'm leaving for a new adventure and a new step in my career," Emmer wrote. "Thank you to FOX Sports North for the opportunity to cover the same teams I grew up watching as a kid and giving me an outlet to grow."

Emmer has not announced where the next step in her career will take her.

The 24-year-old Delano native was hired as a full-time FSN reporter and studio host nearly a year ago to the day. She's a St. Cloud State University graduate, where she was a studio host and reporter for SCSU Sports Network and a rink-side reporter for Huskies hockey.

In May 2018, Emmer was named the winner of the 2018 Jim Nantz Award, which recognizes the top collegiate sports broadcaster in the country. She's the first woman to win the award.
