Lady A's Prior Lake show canceled last minute due to health emergency
Country band Lady A has canceled its planned headline performance at the Lakefront Music Fest in Prior Lake, which is taking place Saturday night.
The late cancelation was the result of a "health emergency," which on Twitter was explained by lead singer Charles Kelley coming down with appendicitis.
The band's appearance at the Lakefront Music Fest, in which they were the headliners, was to be a precursor to the band's first tour since 2018.
"After such a long wait, there isn't much that could keep us from being with our fans," the band announced. "Unfortunately, Charles has appendicitis, so we're sorry to say we won't be with you at Lakefront Music Fest tonight."
Organizers of the festival say the event will go ahead with extended sets from Jake Owen and opener Noah Guthrie, with Lady A due to return to the festival in 2023.
Lady A was previously known as Lady Antebellum, a name they dropped last year following the death of George Floyd, with "Antebellum" referring to the time before the American Civil War, a period when slavery was rife.
