'Let's spend the night together': Billboard hints Rolling Stones will play Twin Cities show
Billboards featuring the Rolling Stones' red tongue logo have been popping up in cities across the country, suggesting the rock band may be paying a visit.
Electronic billboards that read "Start Me Up – Thursday" and "Satisfaction – Thursday" are up along Interstate 494 in Eden Prairie, hinting the Rolling Stones' may make a stop in the Twin Cities on their rumored U.S. tour, the Star Tribune reports.
Similar billboards have been spotted in Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Atlanta, Georgia; Orlando, Florida; and Buffalo, New York, the Journal Sentinel reports.
Sources told the Star Tribune that the Stones could be playing TCF Bank Stadium on Wednesday June 3, but that's just a rumor until the band makes an official announcement.
And that announcement is expected to come Thursday, Ultimate Classic Rock says. The band has been teasing a Thursday announcement on the billboards and on Twitter .
The video in the tweet above also includes a link to the website JustAKissAway, where fans can sign up for updates on the expected tour.
Mick Jagger and co. dropped similar hints before their 2013 tour announcement. JamBase notes the Rolling Stones posted billboards and tweeted a similar teaser on Twitter.
The last time the Rolling Stones played in Minnesota was in 2005 at the Xcel Energy Center, the Star Tribune says.
