Little Falls in running for town makeover reality TV series

If everything falls into place, Little Falls may be getting a big facelift.

The Morrison County Record reports that the central Minnesota city is one of the finalists from across the country for "Town 180," a reality TV series that will award the winner $100,000 for a community makeover.

Little Falls Convention and Visitors Bureau Director Kris VonBerge sent the town's application along with videos about the community to the production last June, and was notified in September that the city was a top 10 finalist.

Now, there are three to four cities being considered, the Record says.

If Little Falls wins the competition, two teams of residents will be formed to come up with ideas to improve the city over a six- to eight-week stretch.

VonBerge told the Record that the teams will have to show they can work together and overcome differences of opinion during the planning processes.

The executive said the biggest win that could come out of the project is the amount of free marketing the city could get by being featured on the show.

“The national exposure is way bigger than I could ever market,” VonBerge told the publication.

Minnesota's last big reality TV win came in December when the Minneapolis a cappella group Home Free won NBC's "The Sing Off" competition.
