Lizzo's new album, Cuz I Love You, was released on Friday and all signs point to it making her a superstar.

The Minneapolis-based musician's third album comes on the back of the release of the single "Juice," which became a massive hit when Lizzo released it without warning 4 days into 2019.

And by all accounts Cuz I Love You is every bit as celebrated as "Juice," with Esquire magazine saying it's one of the best albums of the year so far.

"The new album outpaces Lizzo's earlier releases in its vulnerability, defiance, self-actualization, and sheer catchiness by a country mile," it says, adding that "the whole album begs for Album of the Year respect."

The Guardian is similarly effusive in its 4/5 review, describing Cuz I Love You as "unapologetically loud, bold and full-on, simultaneously old-fashioned ... but immensely fresh in the bargain."

Within hours of its release, the album hit No. 1 on the iTunes album chart, even ahead of Homecoming by Beyonce herself.

Lizzo was also trending on social media Friday, with the music world abuzz about her latest work.
