Local restaurants offer takeout deals for Mpls.St.Paul Magazine's Restaurant Week

Mpls.St.Paul Magazine's annual Restaurant Week is themed #Takeout2LiftUp

The pandemic that has wreaked a terrible toll on the restaurant industry, so it's more important than ever to support your favorite eateries.

And it's much easier to do that in the Twin Cities this week, as despite the pandemic around 50 local spots are offering two or three-course deals as part of Mpls.St.Paul Magazine's annual Restaurant Week.

The deals are available for takeout, though some restaurants may have patio or even indoor dining space available.

As food writer Stephanie March explains, the ever-changing nature of the pandemic may mean that some restaurants may be temporarily unavailable or experience complications during the course of the deals week, which ends Sunday.

"During the time we usually start signing restaurants up, well that was when places started shutting down. As it became apparent to us that we wouldn't be able to tell what the restaurant world would be like month to month (who am I kidding, week to week? day to day?), we knew we couldn't plan for RW as normal.

"So we sent out a note and asked many restaurants what they thought. Could we do it differently, was there a way to support them and their teams? So, here we are," she wrote for the magazine.

In addition to March's own recommendations, a full list of participating restaurants can be found here

Notable names taking part include Cafe Alma, Cardigan Donuts, Manny's Tortas, Saint Dinette, and Pig Ate My Pizza.
