After 37 years on the corner of Lyndale and Lake in Minneapolis, It's Greek to Me closed its doors on Sunday.
The restaurant, which has been in the Lyn-Lake neighborhood since 1982, announced that Sunday was its final service at the location.
But fans of its Mediterranean cuisine should not fear, the eatery does plan on opening in an as-yet undisclosed location.
"We look forward to maintaining our efforts to provide you with authentic modern Mediterranean Greek cuisine, catering, and our merchandising at a new location to be announced in the near future," the restaurant posted on its website.
"Thank you to our amazing staff who we consider family, and to our loyal customers."
The restaurant is run by the Karos family, after husband-and-wife duo Nick and Athena Karos took over from the original founds, Argyrios and Denise Arambadjis, in 2017.
It's the latest restaurant closure to impact the Lyn-Lake-Uptown areas in the past few months, with bagel eatery Meyvn shutting its doors on West Lake Street earlier this year, to be replaced by Mucci's.
It was followed by Famous Dave's, which shut down its prominent Calhoun Square location on Hennepin Avenue in July.
Speaking to City Pages, the Karos said the location had become increasingly difficult to operate from, as a result of the city selling off a parking lot behind the restaurant, as well as "two bus lines blocking off the corner."
This made it difficult for customers, notably disabled customers, to access to business.
