The Rolling Stones have already rolled into the Twin Cities for their big outdoor concert at TCF Bank Stadium Wednesday night.

Legendary frontman Mick Jagger apparently had a little time to kill Monday afternoon so he did some browsing at a Minneapolis bookstore.

He spent a low-key hour at the James & Mary Laurie Booksellers at 250 3rd Av. N. in the North Loop, according to co-owner James Laurie.

“I was called, and somebody said a VIP person was coming over and asked if we would be here,” Laurie told WCCO.

The store specializes in rare, vintage, and collectible books, as well as art prints and vinyl records featuring classical and jazz music.

Laurie said Jagger wanted to buy a few prints as gifts for friends, according to WCCO, and Laurie showed him around the store.

Laurie described the rock and roll legend as "relaxed, bright, engaging, self-deprecating," according to the Star Tribune, and noted that Jagger didn't call attention to himself during his visit.

Laurie also mentioned that Jagger had an escort who kept a discreet distance.

On the bookstore's Facebook page, James Laurie had this to say about Jagger:

"He sings "Its only rock n roll but I like it" but Mick Jagger is not just a singer as evidenced by his knowledge & interest in art, architecture, literature & music during his visit to our bookshop ... He is also very generous with his friends. It was a pleasure having him in the shop."

According to the Star Tribune, other celebrities have dropped in to the Laurie bookstore, including people like Katie Couric and Keanu Reeves, and Laurie has not asked them to pose for a photo with him.

But with Jagger, he broke that rule and had the above photo taken together. However, asking for autographs remained off-limits, said the Star Tribune.

As Jagger left the store, the last thing he said, according to Laurie, was, "'think dry,' since rain is forecast for his concert on Wednesday evening."

Jagger and some of his bandmates have visited a few other places in town, including the Minneapolis Institute of Arts, which tweeted about it.

City Pages reports that Jagger has reportedly been seen at a few local restaurants, including Bar Lurcat and Bar La Grassa.
