The Mall of America is continuing its tradition of closing on Thanksgiving Day, but is gearing up for a busy Black Friday in Bloomington.

The megamall will open its doors for the biggest shopping day of the year at 5 a.m. Friday, and is planning plenty of festivities to keep shoppers happy.

It will start straight away with a giveaway for the shoppers who brave the cold to wait in line outside the mall.

The first 200 people in line at the mall's north doors will be given a Mall of America gift card that will range in value between $10 and $500.

That will signal the start of a weekend full of giveaways, with the MOA giving out 8,000 scratch offs at random to visitors at the North Entrance in the mornings.

The scratch offs will contain prizes that include electronics, gift cards, attraction tickets and more.
