Mega Millions officials say the winning ticket was purchased at Ernie's Liquors in San Jose, California. There were also eight tickets that matched five numbers, with six $1 million winners and two $3 million winners.

One of the $1 million tickets was sold in Minnesota.

The winning numbers drawn Tuesday night were 1, 2, 4, 19 and 29, with the Mega Ball number 20.

There were no winning tickets in last Friday's $493 million Mega Millions drawing, so Tuesday's lottery is now worth an incredible $512 million.

That number could still rise between now and the 10 p.m. drawing, but as is it is already the fifth-largest jackpot in Mega Millions history. The top five winning Mega Millions prizes of all time:

  4. $533 million (Mar. 30, 2018)
  5. $451 million (Jan. 5, 2018)

The Powerball holds the top lottery spot of all time in the U.S., with a $1.6 billion prize shared by three winners in 2016.

The cash prize for Tuesday's drawing is worth an estimated $303 million.
