Menchie's frozen yogurt shop in St. Paul will close its doors next month.

The shop announced it would close the weekend of Sep. 11 in a Facebook post Thursday. Menchie’s had been open on Cleveland Avenue in the Highland Park neighborhood for more than a decade, according to the post.

“Friends, we’re sorry to report that Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt in Highland Park will be closing permanently on the weekend of September 11,” the post reads.

“We’ve loved being part of the Highland Park community over the past decade, and we’re excited to see what else transpires in our space and the rest of Highland Village.”

The shop will continue to honor gift cards and coupons through its closing. It offers a range of self-serve, build-your-own frozen yogurt flavors and toppings and frozen yogurt cakes.

Menchies continued to offer takeout and delivery options during the state’s COVID-19 lockdown last winter, but opened back up for in-person service in the spring.

Menchie’s operates multiple franchises across the country, but the St. Paul location is its only in Minnesota.

No reason was given for the closure in its Facebook post.
