Just a week after it was announced that Sven Sundgaard had been fired, another meteorologist is leaving KARE 11.

Jason Disharoon announced on his Twitter page that he's leaving the Twin Cities NBC affiliate, though didn't reveal details as to the nature of his departure.

"It’s bittersweet that I announce that this will be my final weekend with KARE 11," he said.

"My final day will be this Sunday. While I’m sad to leave the friends I’ve made here behind, I’m looking forward to see where my career is taking me for the future."

Disharoon joined the station in May 2019, and was the station's weekend meteorologist.

It comes just a week after KARE 11 announced it had fired Sven Sundgaard for "continued violations" of its news ethics.

KARE 11 has not made a comment regarding Disharoon's departure. BMTN has reached out to the station.
