Miley 'Twerking' Cyrus to play Jingle Ball in St. Paul

Former teen music queen-turned-shock performer Miley Cyrus and Robin Thicke -- the singer who helped her make the term "Twerking" part of the cultural lexicon -- are two of the acts playing the KDWB Jingle Ball in December, the Star Tribune reports.

The show is set for Dec. 10 at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul.

Cyrus and Thicke caused a firestorm of controversy in late August at the MTV Video Music Awards with her suggestive dance moves with the singer and other lewd actions during their medley performance of "We Can't Stop," "Blurred Lines" and "Give it 2 U."

Cyrus has since defended her MTV appearance in the national media through the likes of NBC's "Today" show and Rolling Stone magazine.

"I know what I'm doing. I know I'm shocking you," Cyrus, 20, told Rolling Stone.

Not showing any signs of holding back, Cyrus appears in new music video for "Wrecking Ball" entirely in the nude.

Also scheduled to perform at Jingle Ball are Enrique Iglesias, Ariana Grande, Austin Mahone, Flo Rida, Fall Out Boy and "X-Factor" girl group Fifth Harmony.

Fans who are registered as KDWB VIPs can start buying tickets Tuesday at 5 p.m., while general sales begin Oct. 19 at noon.

Tickets are $51.30 and $170.60.

Cyrus hosted "Saturday Night Live" last weekend, and in one skit spoofed U.S. Rep Michele Bachmann in a musical skit about the federal government shutdown.

The Huffington Post reports that Bachmann responded to the portrayal with good humor, telling on a conference call, "I've never done twerking in my life, and I don't intend to take it up."
