Minneapolis dog's reaction to Bernie Sanders, Pete Buttigieg goes viral

No matter what your politics are, this is a very good dog.
Author:

Amidst the back-and-forth of the Democratic debate and ahead of the maelstrom that will be the 2020 Presidential Election, we should all embrace things that unite us ... like cute pets.

The very good girl in question today is Tuna, who is now a viral sensation thanks to her owner, Minneapolis author Chris Stedman.

Stedman took a video of his beloved pooch watching the Friday Democratic debate in New Hampshire.

It shows Tuna paying rapt attention to Bernie Sanders, with her tail wagging as he explains his vision for healthcare.

The video then cuts to Tuna watching a section of Pete Buttigieg, except she's not watching, but instead dozing on her bed.

In the three days since Stedman posted it, his tweet has racked up more than 12,000 retweets and has been viewed almost 850,000 times.

Unsurprisingly, Tuna's reaction has made her a favorite among Bernie Sanders' supporters online, with Stedman himself promising to give her treats for every $10 donated to the Vermont senator's presidential campaign.

Among those sharing the video is Rob Delaney, the standup-comedian and actor known for Catastrophe on Amazon Prime, while Sanders' activist group People 4 Bernie has also shared it.

There has been no response to our knowledge by the Buttigieg campaign, though issuing a retort that says anything but "dogs are great" would likely be a huge political misstep.

The Twin Cities chapter of the Democratic Socialists of America described Tuna as its "most famous member."
