Minneapolis is in the running for the title of 'Best Beer Scene'
Minneapolis is in the running to be named the city with the Best Beer Scene.
The naming rights go to the winner of a USA Today reader's choice 10Best poll (vote for your choice here). As of Friday afternoon Minneapolis was sitting at No. 8 out of the 20 cities nominated by beer experts.
When describing Minneapolis, the website says, "The Land of 10,000 Lakes could also be called the Land of 10,000 Brews" because of the 50 or so breweries located in the Twin Cities metro area alone.
It also gives a shout-out to some local favorites, including Fulton, Surly, and Dangerous Man, as well as popular craft beer bars like the Republic, William's, and Pig & Fiddle.
Minneapolis is up against some other popular beer cities, including Fort Collins, Colorado; Asheville, North Carolina; Portland, Oregon; Boston; and San Diego.
Voting is open for the next 23 days.
USA Today does a bunch of these 10Best polls for its 10Best travel and lifestyle website. Another one you can vote for is Favorite Beer Bar – The Happy Gnome in St. Paul is in the running for that title.
