Minnesota native and financial journalist Rebecca Jarvis is switching networks, The Associated Press reports.

Jarvis, who was co-anchor of "CBS This Saturday," has left the network to join ABC News.

During her three-year stint at CBS, Jarvis, 31, also covered financial and economic news for the network, appearing on "The Early Show" and "The CBS Evening News."

ABC announced Tuesday that Jarvis will become the network's chief business and economics correspondent.

"Rebecca is a versatile and aggressive reporter who will contribute immensely across every program and platform," ABC said in blog post.

Jarvis was born in Minneapolis and graduated from St. Paul Academy and Summit School in 1999.

In addition to her financial reporting, she appeared on Donald Trump's NBC reality competition "The Apprentice" during the show's fourth season in 2005.

Jarvis also worked for CNBC from 2006 to 2009, and during that time, also appeared on NBC's "Today" show.

The journalist's mother, Gail Marks Jarvis, previously worked for the Pioneer Press and is now a personal finance writer for the Chicago Tribune.

Marks Jarvis' column still runs in the Pioneer Press.
