Minneapolis woman wins $1,000 job to watch 24 Hallmark Christmas movies
A Minneapolis woman is being paid $1,000 to watch 24 Hallmark Christmas movies in the space of 12 days.
Jasmine Stringer, an entrepreneur behind the companies JB Stringer and lifestyle brand Carpe Diem with Jasmine, was announced on Thursday as the winner of the contest run by CenturyLinkQuote.com.
The Century Link sales agency said it received a whopping 218,000 entries for the competition, but Hallmark superfan Stringer was the standout entry.
Stringer already hosts annual Hallmark movie night parties for her friends where they select the cheesiest Hallmark movie possible to watch, with the dress code strictly limited to pajamas.
Now she's getting paid to watch the most sickly sweet of Hallmark Christmas movies, featuring such excellently named classics as "A Royal Christmas," "The Christmas Consultant," and "Battle of the Bulbs."
She's being joined in her endeavor by her friend Sharon, with the two sharing their thoughts on the movies as they make their way through the list.
In fact, as they're such fans of Hallmark movies, they watched five over the weekend and only two of them were on the list selected for the contest – so they're actually watching more than they need to.
Here are the 24 movies she'll be getting through this year.
