Minnesota-born Broadway star reportedly fired from play for refusing vaccine

Laura Osnes is an Eagan High School grad.

A Minnesota stage star is generating national headlines over her exit from a high-profile musical in New York.

Laura Osnes, a singer and actress originally from Eagan, has been let go from a production of "Crazy for You" at Guild Hall of East Hampton, a major performing arts venue in the Hamptons of Long Island.

According to New York Post's entertainment site Page Six, Osner, 35, was fired over her refusal to get vaccinated for COVID-19, after having revealed "that she doesn’t trust the jabs."

Guild Hall leadership confirmed her departure from the production, but did not comment to Page Six on the specific reason she left.

Osnes has not commented on the controversy on any of her social media accounts.

Born in Burnsville, Osnes is a graduate of Eagan High School, and shot to fame after appearing on the 2007 NBC reality show "Grease: You're the One That I Want!", where contestants competed over lead roles in a Broadway revival of the iconic musical.

Her work in the theater has earned her multiple Tony nominations, and she won a Drama Desk award in 2013 for her starring role in Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella.
