A young family in southeast Minnesota is dealing with tragedy for the second time in four months.

Last August, Greg and Aimee Greseth welcomed a baby boy, Cooper, to their family. He was their third child, joining Carson and Carter, ages 5 and 2, respectively.

Tragedy struck the young family on Oct. 11 when Greg was killed in a car accident northwest of Rochester in Goodhue County, leaving his fiancée and three children behind.

Just over four months passed when a second tragedy struck the family as Cooper died suddenly on Jan. 20, according to the Rochester Post Bulletin

"He was the happiest little guy with such a beautiful, big smile!" says Cooper's obituary. "He had a cute laugh and loved to grab his mom’s hair. This chunky guy was adored by his two older brothers and loved having their attention."

How the 5-month-old infant passed is unclear, but surrounding communities of the Wanamingo family are rallying to raise funds for Aimee and her boys on Saturday, Feb. 9.

There will be food and a silent auction from 3-6 p.m. at the Zumbrota VFW followed live music at The Guilty Goose in Zumbrota from 8 p.m. to midnight. There isn't a cover charge for the live music but donations are welcome.

A online fundraiser via GoFundMe is also available to anyone who wants to help. It was started in October after Greg's death, and it remains open to help provide financial peace of mind during a very difficult time.

As of 10 a.m. Friday, the GoFundMe had generated just over $5,000.
