Minnesota-made horror film 'Voice of Shadows' now available to stream
An 1870 bed and breakfast in Minnesota is the backdrop of a new Gothic horror movie available to stream starting Tuesday.
Voice of Shadows, written and directed by St. Paul native Nicholas Bain, will be available on Amazon Prime Video, Google Play, iTunes/Apple TV and elsewhere.
The 90-minute movie, filmed at the James A. Thompson B&B in Lanesboro, follows Gabriel, a devout Catholic, as he travels with his girlfriend, Emma, to the country estate she stands to inherit.
There, they learn Emma must adhere to an increasingly strange set of rules during their weekend stay in order for the inheritance to take effect.
A press release for the film shares: "As things escalate and Emma is pulled deeper into the darkness by a mysterious cult tied to the estate, Gabriel battles his dark past and must find a way to save her and himself before a powerful evil awakens and they are lost forever."
"Voice of Shadows" held its world premiere at the Twin Cities Film Festival and later collected multiple awards, including Best Feature Film at Romford Horror Festival, Latitude Film Awards and Bestlov Festival.
The film also won Best Visual Effects at the Los Angelos Crime and Horror Festival.
"'Voice of Shadows' is a horror-noir about a flawed individual who is up against something much greater than himself," Bain shared in a news release. "It’s a story about discrimination, class and the responsibility of sacred power."
The film stars Michael Paul Levin, Martin Harris and Maria Jose Vargas Agudelo.
