Minnesota native Katie Storm returning home for host, reporter role with Bally Sports North

The St. Cloud State grad had worked for Fox Sports North before leaving for Philadelphia.

Delano-born Katie Storm is coming back to Minnesota as a host and reporter for Bally Sports North.

Storm (formerly Emmer) announced her return Wednesday, saying she's "thrilled and thankful."

You might recognize Storm from her previous stint with what was then Fox Sports North. The St. Cloud State grad joined the network as a reporter and studio host in 2018, but left a year later to take a job covering the Philadelphia Flyers for the local NBC Sports station.

Her run out east ended in early 2021, when she announced she lost her job as a result of the pandemic.

She has since landed on her feet in her old stomping grounds.

"I can’t wait to continue covering the stories of the teams I grew up watching!" Storm tweeted.

Storm is the daughter of Minnesota U.S. Rep. Tom Emmer. In May 2018, Emmer was named the winner of the 2018 Jim Nantz Award, which recognizes the top collegiate sports broadcaster in the country. She's the first woman to win the award.
