Minnesota native to host new HGTV remodeling show
A licensed contractor who grew up in Robbinsdale is hosting a new extreme remodeling show on HGTV, the Pioneer Press reports.
Amy Matthews is hosting "Renovation Raiders," where a crew attempts to pull off a major remodeling job of a room in a house while the homeowners are out to dinner for a couple of hours.
The renovation is planned in advance with one of the homeowners while the other is completely unaware of the surprise that awaits them when they return from dinner.
The show, which is filmed in the Twin Cities, debuts May 30 at 8 p.m.
Matthews is no stranger to hosting home improvement shows. She already hosts the DIY Network's "This New House," "Sweat Equity," "Bathroom Renovations" and the third season of "Blog Cabin."
Matthews has also appeared in several segments on CBS, CNN and NBC. See a segment below of Matthews on "NBC's Today."
