Minnesota State Fair announces drive-thru 'Food Parade' experience, including Sweet Martha's Cookies

Tickets go on sale next week.

The Minnesota State Fair has announced a drive-thru "Food Parade" experience featuring 16 fair vendors this August and September.

With the Great Minnesota Get-Together canceled because of the COVID-19 pandemic, state organizers have come up with a social distancing-safe event that will still give vendors the chance to sell and fair lovers the chance to eat some famous State Fair food.

It will run between Aug. 20-23, 27-30 and Sept. 3-7, and will cost $20 per vehicle with up to 5 people inside, with tickets going on sale at 10 a.m. on July 31 – more details here, and ticket info here.

Among the vendors confirmed for the drive-thru are fair mainstays including Sweet Martha's Cookies, Mouth Trap Cheese Curds, Pronto Pups, and Turkey to Go.

All vehicles will follow a one-way, 1.5 mile route through the fairgrounds, with organizers saying people should "plan for a multi-hour experience," and say there will be entertainment, a trivia contest, and activities along the way.
