An absurd amount of wealth in Minnesota resides in the accounts of six people who feature in Forbes' annual list of "The World's Billionaires."

The number and the identities of the billionaires in the state are unchanged from last year, though there's been a slight switching of the order thanks to the rising fortune of Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor.

The printing magnate, who counts the Star Tribune among his properties, is now worth $2.6 billion, making him the second richest person in Minnesota.

He's jumped ahead of broadcaster Stanley Hubbard, whose wealth has dropped from $2.3 billion to $2.2 billion, according to Forbes.

But he still trails Minnesota's richest Whitney MacMillan, the last member of the Cargill-MacMillan family to serve as CEO of Cargill – America's largest private company.

The 88 year old's wealth has grown to $6 billion over the past year, up from $5.6 billion last year.

Despite this, he fell from 275th to the 289th in the richest person in the world rankings – we're sure he'll cope somehow.

Starkey Hearing CEO William F. Austin is the state's 4th richest with $1.6 billion, while two other Minnesota-based MacMillan family members, Martha and John, are the joint 5th richest in the state.

They own smaller stakes in Cargill and are worth $1.2 billion.

Topping the list is Amazon creator Jeff Bezos, who is now worth the small matter of $112 billion. He replaces Bill Gates at the top, with Warren Buffet third.
