Chanhassen Dinner Theatres alum Amy Adams is featured in the new "Man of Steel" movie trailer that has gone viral online.

Adams, who appeared in several Chanhassen productions from 1996 to 1999, plays Lois Lane in the new Superman film, directed by Green Bay, Wis., native Zack Snyder.

After he revealed the trailer at CinemaCon in Las Vegas Tuesday, Snyder said he wants "Man of Steel" to be a big movie-going experience, full of action, full of emotion and full of the biggest super hero in the world."

The film is produced by "Dark Knight" trilogy director Christopher Nolan and stars Henry Cavill as Clark Kent/Superman.

The hotly anticipated trailer tracks Superman's birth on Krypton to his boyhood days in Kansas, to growing up to become Superman and facing the villainous General Zod (Michael Shannon).

"How do you find someone who has spent a lifetime covering his tracks," Adams is heard in a voiceover in the middle of the trailer. "For some, he was a guardian angel. For others, a ghost. He never quite fit in."

Adams is featured in a funny scene at the end of the trailer, as Lois questions Superman in an interrogation room about the "S" on his chest.

Adams has become an A-list actor since her days at the Chanhassen, earning four Oscar nominations including one for her performance in the drama "The Master" last year.

"Man of Steel," which also stars Russell Crowe, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, Laurence Fishburne and Christopher Meloni, opens in theaters nationwide June 14.
