Minnesota TV reporter fired for wearing MAGA hat at Trump rally

Jim Bunner was reporting on the rally for KTTC.

A Minnesota TV reporter photographed wearing a "Make America Great Again" at President Trump's rally in Rochester on Thursday has been fired.

The profile page for multimedia journalist Jim Bunner has been removed from website of Austin-based KTTC-TV, after pictures emerged of him wearing the MAGA hat outside the Mayo Civic Center ahead of the president's appearance.

He had joined the NBC-affiliated for southeast Minnesota last December, but KTTC news director Noel Sederstrom confirmed to the Rochester Post Bulletin he has been fired.

Sederstrom told the newspaper that the station doesn't allow staff members to wear political clothing while covering stories.

Bunner hasn't commented publicly on his dismissal, either to media or on his social media pages.

Star Tribune video journalist Mark Vancleave snapped pictures of Bunner wearing the MAGA hat.
