Minnesota's first Port of Subs will be in Woodbury
Longtime West Coast sandwich shop Port of Subs is coming to Minnesota and the first of 60 locations is planned for Woodbury.
Twin Cities entrepreneur Pat Mancuso and his daughter, Ashley Mancuso, are behind the massive franchise deal announced earlier this month.
"This is a real natural fit for us," Pat Mancuso, 59, said in an interview, adding he's looking forward to helping others find success owning their own business.
The exact location of the state's first Port of Subs has not yet been announced, but Mancuso confirmed it'll be located in Woodbury and open sometime within the next six months.
At least a dozen more locations are expected to be added over the next 18 months, with a total of 60 locations planned as part of the deal.
Here in Minnesota, Mancuso said Port of Subs will continue its commitment to being a neighborhood sub-sandwich shop.
Founded by two brothers in Sparks, Nevada in 1972, the sandwich chain today has more than 130 locations in Arizona, California, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Utah and Washington.
Port of Subs offers both hot and cold sandwiches made with fresh-baked bread and fresh-sliced meats, in addition to salads, wraps and other lunch fare.
The business also specializes in crafted-to-go sandwiches, which are often sold in partnership with universities, airports, truck stops and more.
