Ten years after the debut of his memoir about life as a widowed father, a Minnesota writer is getting the Hollywood treatment — with comedian Kevin Hart playing him in a new film debuting in June.
"Fatherhood," based on Two Kisses for Maddy: A Memoir of Loss and Love by Matt Logelin, premieres on Netflix on June 18, Father's Day weekend.
Hart stars as Logelin, who grew up in Minnetonka and came to prominence in 2008 with a blog about having lost his wife, Liz, a day after she gave birth to their daughter Madeline. The blog, which detailed his experiences as a single, grieving father, eventually led to the publication of Two Kisses for Maddy in 2011.
